Liz, her friend Britney, and I went to Runyon Canyon, today.
Runyon Canyon is located in the Hollywood Hills, and is frequented by many, many people, including celebrities. Not only is the walk a good workout, (for dogs also), but the view of downtown Los Angeles to the left; Westwood, to the right; the Pacific Ocean in the far distance; and directly below, Hollywood, is awesome.
We began our hike at the northern entrance to the trail, which is off the famous Mulholland Drive. The three of us, along with other early morning trekkers, walked down a slopped paved trail, which turned into a dirt path, and finally into a series of wooden steps.
Down.
Down.
Down.

Down.
Down.
After moving down, at a steady pace, we were greeted by a flat surface of dirt and shrubbery, giving us a chance to catch our breaths before turning around, and returning to the steps.
Up.
Up.
Up.
That was when the real challenge began. Some people actually run up the steep incline. Many, like Liz and Britney, walk quickly. Or, simply, hikers paced themselves, slowly. Like me.
