Chill

"Those guys are so chill," Brad stated.
"Chill? Why?" I responded.

He was standing up, in front of the computer, watching a video of a skateboarding/biking camp.

"Just chill. They're cool without even trying to be," he said. Admiringly. "But mostly what I notice is that they don't seem to get angry about anything. They laugh off any mishaps they may have had. I like that."

Brad and I have had many conversation about being chill. Chill when it comes to style and chill in attitude. As a wise been there done that mom, I have always told him to just be himself. Not to worry what others think. And to breathe deep when feeling mad.

"Well, what exactly are they doing that makes them so chill?" I ask. Curious.

"They don't seem to care how they look. Yet, they look cool. They don't get mad when things aren't going their way. They just deal with it. I like how chill they are."

He didn't know it, but my heart warmed over hearing him say what I have been lecturing him about for years.

"That's good," I said. Casually.

"Yeah. I don't want to get mad just because something happens that I don't like," he stated, as a matter-of-fact.

My heart warmed even more.

  6. Oh yeah, ladies. Love when the lessons that ingrain themselves into blossoming minds stay put........then exposes itself at a later date.
