The Beach

A place in nature that uplifts my spirits.
A calm, soothing, serene location.

 The beach.

The roar of the waves wash away the hard times life throws my way.
The arguments I have had.
With my spouse.

At least for that moment.
Until I can gather my thoughts once again.

Along the coast, anywhere.

The beach.

Breathing in the fresh, salty air.
Promoting the desire to be out.
Outside.
Under a blue sky.
A grey one.
Feeling one with nature.

The beach.

Strolling down a path that leads to the sandy surf.
To hear the waves roar.
Embracing the moment.
Keeping an eye on the glistening ocean blue.
As it rolls onto the coastline.

The beach.

  1. I love this and I love the beach. Even though I can still probably count on one hand all the times I've actually been to a beach in my lifetime. There is just something calming about it that has always called to my spirit. I would love to live close enough to visit on a regular basis.

  6. What an interesting concept for a blog. Sorry, I got distracted.

I am visiting from WoW. What a sweet prose piece, a little sad, a little haunting, but that just gives it weight and depth. I hope that makes sense. It is lovely.

    1. Hi Jen. I won't say I am a water baby. I just love the sounds and smells the beach provides. Even as a kid, I hated playing in the water, getting all that sand in my suit! Walking in the sand... Now that is heaven for me.

  8. I've never been to the ocean, but I imagine it's the same feeling I get when I wade through the prairie grasses on our farm.

    Lovely post! :)

  9. I am so with you on this one! I live 3 to 4 minutes from the ocean, and have the privilege of driving by it every morning, admiring its beauty, on the way to driving my kids to school. Nice post!

  10. Never a day goes by that I don't wiggle my toes in the sand and stand in awe of the sea. I am so blessed to live here and I pass on a big ditto on all of your sentiments regarding the ocean. Your prose is lovely and I love your back ground photo. We have been having such clear beautiful sunsets here too.
